Poker After Dark
It's interesting mix of High-Stakes Cash games and regular visits from some of the best professional poker players made Poker After Dark continually gather more and more audiences especially now with poker in the limelight.

After a competitive but a great run and continuous success for five seasons, NBC's Poker After Dark is back and all set for season six. It will be held at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The debut title of the first episode of Poker After Dark is called "Commentators III". It features some of the poker industry's renowned poker players namely: Howard Lederer, Joe Sebok, Gabe Kaplan, Ali Nejad, Kara Scott and Mark Gregorich.

The second episode will be much more interesting (at least for me) because it will have some of pokers (well let's say) interesting nicknames and some of the best poker players today namely: Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari, Erick "E-Dog" Lindgren, Annette "The Huntress" Obrestad, Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth. This will be so much fun since two of poker's reknowned loud (and well... bad) mouths are here. (Guess who?)

Poker After Dark Host and Contestants

Poker After Dark's first cash game of the season will feature a solid line-up and $50,000 minimum buy-in that will keep viewers interested. Making rounds are Brandon Adams, Todd Brunson, Chris Ferguson, Mike Matusow, Esfandiari, and Hellmuth.

It will also have two other BIG buy-in cash games like $100,000 minimum buy-in with Phil Hellmuth, Eli Elezra, Doyle Brunson, Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, and Laak. The other one will feature $150,000 minimum buy-in match with Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, David Peat, Elezra Kaplan, and Alan Meltzer.

For those poker newbies who isn't familiar with Poker After Dark here is a quick intro. Poker After Dark is NBC's hour-long poker TV program that made a debut on the first day of 2007 (Jan. 1, 2007). You may have recognized it because I featured it's first sexy poker host, Shana Hiatt. She presented the poker TV show (Poker After Dark) for two seasons both of which was aired in the same year (2007).

She was replaced by Marianela Pereyra, another sexy model (because Shana Hiatt is a model too), as the host for Poker After Dark Season Three and then Poker After Dark Season Four was taken over by Leeann Tweeden. All seasons has been voiced-over commentary by Oliver "Ali" Nejad.

Poker After Dark had some early ratings success according to BODOGbeat.com. (In the U.S.) During season one's second week, even though The Late Late Show is broadcast 90 minutes earlier, Poker After Dark attracted on average a larger audience among adults 18-34 than The Late Late Show did in the same week.

I think Poker After Dark will be a success in it's sixth season especially now that Poker has never been this hot (for me) to online casino poker players and others before. But because of the sudden HUGE win beating some of the industry's best poker players by some mysterious online poker pro in Fulltilt who's username has been in top of the searches in poker news, namely "Isildur1."

Surely, Poker After Dark fans and loyal viewers have high expectations on the upcoming new season. I really hope Poker After Dark Season Six will be great. Goodluck!
