Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle at Amazing Race
In the latest episode of the hit CBS reality show, The Amazing Race, Poker Players Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho have been eliminated though defied many critics expectations. They were the only all-female team this season.

For those who aren't familiar with the TV show. The Amazing Race is a reality TV game show in which teams of two people race around the world in competition with other teams. Contestants must arrive first at "pit stops" at the end of each leg of the race to win prizes and to avoid coming last, which carries the possibility of elimination or a significant disadvantage in the following leg.

Contestants travel to and within multiple countries in a variety of transportation modes (planes, taxis, rental cars, trains, buses, boats, and by foot). The clues in each leg point takes the teams to the next destination or direct them to perform a task, either together or by a single member. These challenges are related in some manner to the country or culture where they are located. Teams are progressively eliminated until three are left; at that point, the team that arrives first in the final leg is awarded a grand prize of $1 million.

"It was 10 million times harder than I thought it would be," said Michelle. "Just from a muscle point of view we were at a disadvantage."

Tiffany Michelle is known for being one of the best poker players, commentator, actress, and singer. He made a headline for being the last woman standing in the 2008 World Series of Poker Tournament Main Event.

Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle

The pair only lasted seven weeks before running into obstacles they couldn't overcome. The two female poker players has been interviewed by pokerlistings.com this week:

"I'm incredibly pleased with how we did," said Ho. "We aren't the most physical people and we were totally out of our element."

With only two years on the tournament circuit under her belt, Maria Ho already has five World Series of Poker cashes and two World Poker Tour cashes to her name. At the 2009 World Series, Maria just missed the final table table in the 10k Limit Hold 'em Championship Event, finishing in 11th place. She also kept herself busy playing hostess and commentator for the World Series of Poker and ESPN 360.

"Amazing is the perfect way to describe our experience," said Michelle. "It was the most challenging thing I have done and it was perspective and life changing."

They were best remembered in the starting episode when they informed other teams that they were non-profit workers instead of saying they were one of the poker industry's successful poker players. This move didn't work because they were quickly identified by a poker fan at the airport later.

"We were coming from a strategic point of view and we just wanted to highlight another part of our lives," said Michelle. "It wasn't anything that wasn't truthful."

"Nobody wants to help people that do alright for themselves," added Ho.

"I have no regrets about how we went out," said Ho. "We gave it all we had, but at a certain point you just have to accept there are things you just can't do."

Ho and Michelle have plans to return to the poker circuit at the British Columbia Poker Championship in Vancouver and then the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond at Bellagio in Las Vegas.
